Well, a crew member of ours has a trick to be able to touch these poisonous points without getting infected... and he promptly demonstrated his method to us.
The key, he said, is right before scooping one up off the sea floor, is cupping both hands around his nether regions!? Maybe his privates' poisonousness rival that of the urchins!?!
