Waiwo
CI Field Station, Raja Ampat

CI couldn't have chosen a better site for their first field station in Raja Ampat. A lovely little white-sand beach with mangroves...

...and it's own small healthy coral reef right out front.

The dock is nice for photos, although, like every other dock I've ever seen in Indonesia, it's completely ridiculous... WAAAAY too high, even at the highest of high tides!

The most wonderful place to read a good book is out there under the shade hut, with the ocean breeze to keep you cool!

Waiwo is actually a full-service facility! There are:

A Mess and several cabins

with 'rustic rooms'

kitchen and dining area (also used for internet picnics!)

scuba equipment

several offices (and Satellite internet connection)

as well as a conference/meeting room

and LOTS of coconuts!

aaaahhhh....
